Chlamydia Self-Test Chlamydia is the most common STI in Europe. People with frequent changing sexual partners are at the highest risk. This Chlamydia self-test is suitable for sampling the cervix and can only be used by women. Chlamydia often goes unnoticed but can have serious consequences, such as blindness and even infertility. Mothers can also transmit chlamydia to their unborn babies. It is particularly important to treat infections with Chlamydia Trachomatis during pregnancy. About 50% of infected mothers transmit the infection to the newborn. Common complications in babies are inflamed mucous membranes of the eyes and pneumonia.

This test detects the presence of the Chlamydia Trachomatis bacteria and meets the requirements of the 98/79/EC guideline. After clinical research with 596 participants, the test was found to have a diagnostic sensitivity of 85.7% and a diagnostic specificity of 98.3%.

The sensitivity of a medical test is the percentage of correct positive results among sick individuals.

The specificity of a test is the percentage of correct negative test results among non-sick individuals.
